Points of interest in Finistere, Brittany

The Treuscoat Estate is located in the village of Pleyber Christ in northern Finistere (Brittany), near Morlaix and not far from cities such as Brest, Quimper and even Saint Brieuc.

As Finistere is a department rich in leisure facilities, historical monuments and cultural events, your break in our Eco Lodges will of course be the opportunity for a great number of outings, adventures and discoveries.

Here are some must-dos we would recommend you visit or explore:

Finistere’s cultural heritage

The statues of the Vallée des Saints in Finistere

There’s something for everyone.

Lovers of old stones and history will enjoy visiting the magnificent Château de Kerjean (Saint Vougay) dating from the Renaissance, as well as the gardens and temporary exhibitions at the Abbaye de Daoulas.

The circuit of parish enclosures in Finistere will also lead you from Plougonven to Plougastel Daoulas, while at the Vallée des Saints (in Carnoët), you can explore the stone statues representing the people who brought the Christian gospel to Brittany.

Unique in France, at the Musée du Loup in Saint-Thégonnec young and old can dive into the history and life of this mysterious, fascinating animal. Visiting this museum will also give you an opportunity to extend your day out to the Monts d’Arrée, which are very close by.

How about taking advantage of your stay in Finistere to explore the architectural style typical of the Renaissance? Head to Morlaix, where the Maison de la Duchesse Anne, a magnificent “lantern” house will astonish you with its corbell-arched facade and large spiral staircase.

And, of course, don’t miss a trip to Brest, whether to visit Océanopolis, an unmissable ocean discovery park, or to walk around the Ateliers des Capucins, former military buildings converted into a cultural and commercial centre, linked to the right bank of the town by the first urban cable car in France.

Natural areas to explore

Are you lovers of nautical activities, swimming, surfing and sailing? The famous coastlines of Finistere and the Côtes-d’Armor are waiting for you, from the Bay of Morlaix to the Pink Granite Coast.

The magnificent forest at Huelgoat in Finistere

In Carantec, in particular, you can enjoy a long trip out to the Louët and Callot islands. Why not take advantage of exploring the famous Château du Taureau, built in the 16th century to protect the Bay of Morlaix?

The seaside resorts of Plougasnou and Locquirec are ideal places to take in some fresh air or a swim on their beautiful long beaches, while the town of Roscoff will entice you from its coastline and port to its lively streets. Your escapade may even take you over to the Île de Batz, located just offshore from Roscoff.

If you prefer green open spaces, there is a lot on offer: the Monts d’Arrée hills are only 15 minutes away, so a little nearer than the legendary mysterious forest of Huelgoat, where you can visit the Devil's Grotto, Artus' Camp and the Trembing Rock.

The most resilient visitors will enjoy the GR34, the “Sentier des Douaniers” (hiking path formerly used by customs officers) which travels along the coastlines of Finistere and Brittany for more than 2,000 kilometres, as well as the Vélodyssée, a bike route crossing Brittany from Roscoff to Nantes.

Sport, music, public events made in Brittany

Finistere is also, and above all, a region bursting with exciting events.

Want to take part in a mountain-biking race or triathlon? Fancy going to a fest-noz or music festival (Panoramas in Morlaix, the Veilles Charrues in Carhaix, the Fête du Bruit in Landerneau, etc.)?

How about topping off these activities with one or several nights in an Eco Lodge?

Located in Brittany, near Morlaix (Finistere), the Treuscoat Estate brings together some Eco lodges (tree house cabins, tree house lodges, yurt, Nid’Île tree domes), outdoor activities, an equestrian centre and a well-being space.
